The Sixth Report
Well the semester has almost met it's end and I'm only putting out one more of these reports, which will mostly be a wrap up. With that being said today'd topics will be the same per usual; Mizzou is going bowling, Chiefs take care of business, SigEp had our annual Christmas gathering, still spending all my money and have been really loving sports broadcasting.
The Border War trophy returns home to Columbia as Mizzou beat out Arkansas to guarantee us a bowl game. However, Mizzou couldn't celebrate too long as the rumors started spreading of our #1 receiver, and #3 in all the SEC, entering the transfer portal. Most likely to be true, us Missouri fans will have to look back on reliable Luther Burden. With subtractions from the team also comes new additions, though. Oh and by the way Patrick Mahomes has never been beaten is the months of November and December in his career. This stat astonishes me and I have no clue how someone could say that he is not this years MVP. Mahomes leads the league in every QB stat and plays for one of the top teams in the league, you can't say he isn't the most VALUABLE player.
Secret Santa was probably really fun but I didn't get to come until 2 hours after it started because I was doing the broadcast for my class. It was hard but I was still able to participate and was able to give/receive some really cool gifts. For us, the end of the semester means elections and so now everyone has been voted onto their positions, I am the "swag" chair. The name is kinda excessive because I am just in charge of making shirts for events we do. I'm pretty honored to hear that my colleagues think I got swag.
Coming off Thanksgiving break I was feeling good with the sum of cash I had and also had coming ahead of me. However, I still haven't got paid for my broadcast games and I am yet to find out when that will happen, which sucks. I will be returning the the bread route during the break because my girlfriend has the worst birthday, right and Christmas and before Valentines day. Pockets are going to be hurting but living at home will help me save so much money.
I am happy to finally be able to feel comfortable in a degree program here. Coming into this year I wasn't sure that this is what I wanted, this class has found a passion for me and even pointed in directions I didn't consider. This spring I am continuing the class by taking the advanced version. Im excited to learn more in depth about the things we do and also the chance for a field trip. Right before spring break, we get to go and work at the MIAA basketball tournament!
