The Third Report
Although it hasn't been too long since my last report, there was still things left out from last weekend and obviously the things that happened during the busiest week of the year, homecoming week. Mizzou had a bye week, thankfully, but the chiefs were a different story, we didn't place in any hoco events for greek life, I paid off my sister for my new car and I broadcasted my first football game.
When the #1 team in the nation comes to play you on your turf, it can be pretty intimidating. Surprisingly though, Mizzou put up a good contest. The key to beating Georgia is getting through their defense and the Tigers did that well in the first half but they didn't capitalize on a couple drives and that killed them. We stuck around too close to Georgia for too long and then the #1 team eventually showed up and put us down. The NCAA was nice enough to give us a bye week soon afterwards, though. This week its hard for me to be mad at the Chiefs because I know we aren't the caliber we once were. We aren't necessarily worse, we just have chemistry and game plans that need to be developed. I like how we handled the Raider's even if it ended up a one possession game, but the NFL learned that there is no doubt who the best TE is in the game. Kelce put up 4 light touchdowns and this was all we needed to get the edge over a sad Raiders organization. I'll briefly touch on todays game just because it's always tough to lose a big time game. Defense played the game they needed to up until the 4th quarter and the offense did not take the momentum off a good defensive stand to put points on the board.
A lot of work and not a lot to show. That's the theme behind homecoming for us sadly, but that didn't stop anyone from making the most of this week. Cheer was one of the competitions that really hurt to lose because we had put a lot of time into getting prepped for it and we couldn't get a judge's vote to save our life apparently.
It's impossible to save money during homecoming, I was running around too much and had too much to do for me not to spend money in some places. Most of these charges were like $10-20 so it's not going to effect me that bad. My mom also finally got my check in the bank from a couple weeks ago, which will most likely be my last until thanksgiving break. There was another big check I got from selling my 4 wheeler for $800 but all of this money went to my sister from what I owe on my car. $800 less debt is always a big win, though. Only 1 month of rent left so that will be my last big bill for a while and then my birthday follows shortly. I am hoping for at least $200 total in cash considerations but you never know.
This does not surprise me but football is easily my favorite sport to broadcast. I got the chance to work the camera for our homecoming football game and it just felt natural. Shots just appeared to me in gameplay because I had instinct on where the ball would go or who to put the spotlight on. The only thing that sucks about football is being on your feet and sticking your head in the camera for 5 hours. Volleyball immediately followed the football game and let me just say that was a mistake. By the end of the 2, I was physically wore out and even a little sore.
